3 sleeps till Christmas Croissant Goodness
The Sydney CBD bakehouse only opened in August but has quickly become known as a Sydney destination for incredibly authentic light-and-flaky croissants - and particularly for the two special croissant varieties it releases each month. Little wonder it's earning a reputation as Sydney's best croissanterie.
For their very first Christmas, Banksia Bakehouse's pastry chefs will be creating two traditional Christmas flavours - Mince Pie and Pavlova.
The Mince Pie croissant is filled with orange peel, sultanas and cranberries and decorated with butter shortbread stars and icing sugar, and the Pavlova croissant has a mango coconut curd filling with a topping of mango coconut curd, desiccated coconut, fresh strawberries and meringue kisses.
With the bakehouse's oversize window and open kitchen, locals and tourists can watch the pastry chefs in action each week day creating these Christmas croissants, plain and almond croissants as well as a selection of pastries, cakes and pies. The inviting bakehouse is nestled fountain side in Grosvenor Place's piazza at 225 George Street in the Sydney CBD.
