Dinosaur Valley is now open at Scenic World, bringing the ancient Jurassic rainforest to life with dozens of life-sized dinosaurs in the heart of the Blue Mountains until January 31.

Joined by knowledgeable Dinosaur Rangers, visitors of all ages will meet dozens of life-sized dinosaurs among ancient rainforest, learn fun facts about prehistoric creatures, and wrap up the adventure onboard the world’s steepest railway.

Grab a T-rex selfie in the main plaza, step back in time on the Scenic Cableway, explore an open-air fossil museum with the escarpment as a backdrop, and see life-sized dinosaurs up close in Dinosaur Valley.

Free Kids Trail Guides will keep the little ones entertained, and the kids can continue the fun at home with Ranger Packs filled with all the essentials such as binoculars, a bandana, re-usable Dinosaur Valley water bottle and more.

Scenic World has also partnered with a range of accommodation providers, allowing visitors to extend their stay in the Blue Mountains.

Scenic World Managing Director, Anthea Hammon, said Dinosaur Valley would deliver a welcome boost to the Blue Mountains economy on the back of a tumultuous year riddled by fires, floods and a global pandemic.

“It has been a challenging year for our industry and our community, and we’re thrilled to bring major events such as Dinosaur Valley back into the fold as consumer confidence bounces back and the appetite for iconic tourism experiences returns,” she said.

“Major events will play a key role in the Blue Mountains’ recovery, helping to boost visitor spending and overnight stays, and in turn providing valuable job opportunities for our local community.”

Tourism is the second largest employment sector in the Blue Mountains, accounting for 12.5% of the local workforce.

Scenic World’s Chief Experience Officer Amanda Byrne encouraged visitors to get in quick, with limited Dinosaur Valley tickets available before the event wraps up on January 31.

“Dinosaur Valley was incredibly well received in 2018 and we’re excited to be bringing it back again with a new look and feel,” she said.

“Visitors will be able to choose their own adventure this summer, with Dinosaur Valley tickets sold separately from the Scenic Pass. Step back in time along Dinosaur Valley, or take in the epic views onboard the Scenic Skyway with your Scenic Pass; you decide.”

Entry to Dinosaur Valley and Scenic World is priced from $49.90 for adults and $27.90 for children under 14 years. Both experiences include travel in a pre-approved circuit which takes roughly 90 minutes. Children under four are free.

Blue Mountains locals can also purchase the Mountain Pass, including entry to Dinosaur Valley and Scenic World any time from November 27 – January 31 for the cost of less than two visits.
