Royal Botanic Garden Sydney

Discover the wonders of the universe with our amazing Winter events line up at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney and The Domain. This season is all about reconnecting to the world around us, with our astronomy event at the Calyx and Aboriginal Heritage workshops.

Uncover the healing power of Mother Nature, with our Sustainable Living series at The Calyx. Learn how to create natural skin-care products from common house-hold plants and items, or the abilities of natural remedies to cure illness in our Healing Herbs workshop.

Discover the 350 types of native Sydneysider bees at our Plan Bee workshop. Perfect for students, during this event you will learn all about why bees need us, and take home your very own bee-hotel to put in your backyard.

Turn your eye to the sky with the Astronomy Workshop at The Calyx. In this event you will hear all about the wonders of the solar system over a complimentary glass of wine, and listen to our Aboriginal story-tellers as they tell you the cultural stories behind the stars.

For more rare opportunities to see the Gardens after dark, try our Ghostly Garden and Garden Night Life adventures. By torchlight, you can see possums, bats, owls and all the things that go bump in the night.

The brand-new Air + Style Festival in the Domain is a major event on the Sydney calendar. Watch world-class snow-sport athletes fly down a 16-story high ramp right in the heart of the city. Some of the world’s hottest musicians will be joining in, including Snow Patrol and Flo Rida.

Centennial Parklands

As the nights get longer, we want to teach you all about survival in the wild with our Centennial
Parklands Winter events line up.

Join us in a Guinness World Record attempt at our Stargazing Live event. As part of the nation-wide ABC Stargazing Live, we will be hosting a night of starry fun with scientists from CSIRO and a live broadcast of the national event!

Discover everything that goes bump in the night with our Spotlight Prowls. Explore the Parklands by torchlight with our Rangers, and learn all about the amazing nocturnal creatures that only come out when the lights go out.

Learn how to survive the night with our WILD PLAY Campfire Club sessions. A great family event, these sessions will teach you how to collect the resources to make campfires, cook delicious treats and keep out the cold!

The Inside Dig workshop is back by popular demand. Discover how to create your own mini-garden haven with our Horticultural educator, and enjoy a glass of wine and nibbles. Or if you’re just looking for food, then try the Cheese Lovers Festival which will be debuting for the first time in Centennial Park.

Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan

This winter the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan have many fascinating events and workshops, which run throughout the day and even into the night. Explore the Garden after dark with our popular Nocturnal Tour or Stars over the Garden astronomy workshop.

Make the most of your visit with our Photo Workshop, and learn to take amazing snaps of the Garden and some of the best photogenic landscapes in South West Sydney. You can become a real pro-photographer with the Post Processing workshop and take away fantastic memories of your visit in pictures.

We have a rare opportunity for you to explore the Garden at night with our popular Nocturnal Tour. Explore a whole new world, where many animals that are rarely seen in everyday life, stand proud. Our wildlife whisperer Tom will help you discover the mysteries of the night by torchlight in an unforgettable adventure.

If the Garden isn’t big enough, then uncover the secrets of the universe in our astronomy workshop. Scientists from the Australian Observatory will join our Aboriginal educators to teach you all about the planets and the cultural stories behind the stars.

If you’re more of a morning lark than a night owl, then don’t worry, we have plenty going on during the day. Our early morning Birdwatcher’s Breakfast will show you just how alive the Garden is with wildlife during the day and night.

The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden, Mount Tomah

Come join us at our Daffodil Festival, get The Buzz on Native Bees or follow us on a Winter Bird Walk and Talk – all set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Blue Mountains.

The Garden will transform into golden hues this Winter with the Daffodil Festival. This amazing annual event is the perfect location for a picnic or Daffodil Discovery Walk, where our horticulturalist will help you discover this delightful winter spectacle.

Book into the hands-on Growing Bulbs workshop to learn cultivation and care tips and the secrets to bulb growing success. Stay on in the afternoon as Senior Horticulturist Mat Murray presents spectacular imagery from his recent expedition to the Taurus Mountains of Turkey in search of spring flowering bulbs.

Get back to nature with our popular Winter Bird Walk & Talk. Join Carol Probets on a stunning winter morning stroll, and learn all about the Garden’s beautiful bird life. Hear about bees and how they drive biodiversity and support food security with the Buzz on Native Bees workshop.
