Stuart Ayres MP, Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney congratulated seniors whose treasured stories were included in the book.
“I would encourage everyone to download a copy of the book. It will make you smile, cry and be inspired,” Stuart Ayres said.
“Seniors in our community have had so many amazing experiences and it is fantastic we are able to hear from them through the Seniors’ Stories book.”
An initiative of the NSW Seniors Card, members were invited to contribute short-stories to the book which were influenced by the theme of ‘Love Your Life’.
Acting Minister for Seniors Geoff Lee said the NSW Government introduced the series in 2013 as a way of recognising and valuing the experiences of seniors.
“This book provides an opportunity for seniors to participate in the community, showcase their skills and share their wisdom with younger generations,” Mr Lee said.
“These authors are breaking down ageist stereotypes and connecting with others through their own experiences.”
“It is a great read that gives a compelling insight into the lives of seniors.”
Seniors’ Stories Volume 5 is available to download now.
The latest volume will be available to borrow at all local NSW libraries from 9 December.
