This season Sydney will be buzzing with activity, as the Invictus Games, Lost Picnic and Oktoberfest all descend on the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney and Domain. Take some time to wander into the Garden and discover the inspiring spring activities and new fun programs that will have the kids spending time outdoors.

Immerse yourself in the relaxing, invigorating and educational Japanese Tea Workshop, held by Sydney’s Tea Ceremony Association. In this session, you will be immersed in Japanese culture and learn to recreate a tea ceremony at home.

The affordable, Saturday Sustainable Living Series at The Calyx returns to teach you easy and sustainable living practices, including how to compost, foraging for your own food and making your own beeswax wraps. Learn how to be environmentally friendly in a relaxed atmosphere with a stunning backdrop of The Calyx’s giant green wall.

Join the free National Children’s Week Picnic and celebrate the bundles of joy – or tiny terrors – in your life. Families and friends are invited to pack a picnic lunch and enjoy a range of activities including storytelling, roving entertainers, seed planting and a mud kitchen.

Get creative at the new Family Day at The Calyx. Once a month, kids can now take over and enjoy a mix of activities, including face painting, workshops, colouring in activities and more at The Calyx in the new Plants with Bite carnivorous display.

Kids can submit their masterpieces into the Children’s Threatened Species Day Art Exhibit and see them on display throughout the garden. The competition helps children to unleash their creativity and raises awareness of threatened species at the same time, in time for Threatened Species Day on 7 September.
