Tickets to Northern Beaches Council’s Rock Relief fundraiser come with a surprising bonus – Humanitix is donating all profits from booking fees to the Australian Red Cross.

The Rock Relief concert will feature Aussie legends like Shannon Noll, Hot Dub Time Machine and The Choirboys.

These headliners will perform for an expected 20,000 people, aiming to raise $1 million for bushfire relief. The all-ages concert starts at 2pm on Saturday 15 February at Brookvale Oval.

Tickets are $55 and available only on Humanitix, the not-for-profit ticketing platform. Buy tickets here.

Tickets come with a booking fee, which Humanitix expects will raise an additional $50,000.00 for bushfire relief.

Humanitix’s co-founders, Joshua Ross and Adam McCurdie, launched the tech-charity from a garage in nearby St Ives. They went on to win millions of dollars in grants from Google and Atlassian. Humanitix is now an exponentially growing platform that’s used around the world by the likes of Australian Parliament House, Westfield, and the Football Federation of Australia.

Joshua Ross says: “Event goers are accustomed to paying a few dollars on top of the ticket price as a booking fee, but these few dollars add up to billions of dollars globally. By redirecting the booking fee profits to Disaster Relief and Recovery, Humanitix can add a substantial amount to the funds being raised through these events. It’s an amazing way to amplify the impact of these fundraisers.”

Wallabies legend John Eales has been a Humanitix Ambassador since 2018. Eales says: “I have been inspired by their selfless and ground-breaking journey. Many of us have altruistic motives, not as many act in such a personal manner and with such impact.”

Humanitix was created with the mission of closing the education gap, and sees a clear link between education and bushfire impact.

Joshua Ross says: “The bushfire season in Australia is increasing in severity, and that’s because of climate change. The United Nations identified that improving education is the sixth best way to deal with climate change. Humanitix’s mission to close the education gap in Australia and in other parts of the world means that when we tackle world issues like poverty and inequality, we make an impact on other problems like climate change.”
