$35
Details:
Ups and downs of living in Sydney's inner west have inspired a St Peter's-based community choir to stage a new musical.

"What the World Needs Now (or How the Inner west connects) is a comic-tragedy about love and loss in the inner west," says leading community choir director Gary Smith.

It’s a musical, set in the 60s, which will feature dozens of hits from the decade - from Always Something There to Remind Me and Chapel of Love, to It’s my Party and Dancing in the Street - and of course some tunes by Burt Bacharach and Hal David.

Mr Smith and members of The Bridge on the River Choir wrote the fun storyline, which involves a community choir harmonising their way through the twists and turns of the plot.

"This is how the local community come together to triumph over adversity while singing their favourite songs from the 60's," says Mr Smith.
