Professor Simon Lewis - Parkinson's Disease

When:
Mon 30 Jul 2018
Cost:
Free, Everyone Welcome.
Details:
Over 200 years ago, James Parkinson wrote An Essay on the Shaking Palsy that described what we know today as Parkinson’s Disease (PD).

Despite significant advances in our understanding and treatment of the condition, it can feel like a case of one step forwards, two steps back!

Whilst some of its physical symptoms will be familiar, features such as dementia, hallucinations and dream enactment will be less so.

Professor Simon Lewis from USyd’s Brain and Mind Centre will highlight the challenges we face in diagnosing this disease, in understanding what is going on in the brain and coming up with better treatments.

FREE — NO BOOKINGS REQUIRED
Everyone Welcome
