PLASTIC HEART - Solo Photography Exhibition by Sally Ann & Emily May

When:
Wed 24 Oct 2018
Details:
Goodspace is pleased to present the first Sydney solo exhibition of photography duo and sisters Sally Ann & Emily May. We invite you to the opening exhibition and drinks for one night only on Wednesday, October 24th from 6 to 9 pm.

Titled Plastic Heart, the exhibition shows Sally & Emily’s photography and mixed media body of works that play with the idea of the transparency and ephemerality in the age we’re living right now. They use plastic as a medium to generate visual manifestos, while the photographs become a performative screen to present them. Plastic Heart opens up ideas about reflection of the self, pain, pleasure, intimacy, and identity in a temporary phase of life. The different personas that they captured in these works symbolises plastic as a moment of weakness between deception and realness.

The exhibition also features Sally & Emily’s works in collaboration with:

Amy Love | Ajok Madel | Archie Pham | The Armoury | Courtney James | Cubone Club | Dempsey Rai | Gloria Kolya | Jess Diez | Merry Mae | Rachel Rutt

Shooting since 2012, Sally & Emily’s images are fuelled by self-discovery and contemporary femininity. Furthermore, Sally & Emily have worked on global projects with Adidas and Tim Tam, among other brands, and have been profiled by NYLON, Girlfriend, CosmoGirl!, GRAZIA, and Marie Claire.
